Privacy policy

**Caviar Kitchen** ("Caviar Kitchen", "we", "us") respects your privacy.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about
it. It follows Canada's _Personal Information Protection and Electronic
Documents Act_ (PIPEDA).

## The short version

We collect what we need to send you caviar and nothing else. We do not run
advertising trackers, we do not build profiles, and we do not sell or rent your
information to anyone, ever.

## What we collect

**When you place an order.** Your name, email address, shipping and billing
address, phone number if you give one, and what you ordered. This is collected
through Shopify's checkout.

**Payment details.** Card numbers are entered directly into Shopify Payments and
are never seen by, sent to, or stored by us. We only ever see the last four
digits and the card type on the order record.

**When you email us.** Whatever you choose to put in the message.

**In your browser.** Our shop pages store your cart in your own browser's local
storage under `ck.cart.v1`. It holds only product IDs and quantities, stays on
your device, and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data removes
it. Shopify sets its own cookies during checkout, which are necessary for the
checkout to function.

**What we do not collect.** Our website runs no analytics, no advertising
pixels, no session recording and no third-party tracking scripts of any kind.

## Why we collect it

To take payment, pack and ship your order, keep you updated on it, answer your
questions, handle refunds, and meet our tax and bookkeeping obligations under
Canadian law.

## Who we share it with

Only the companies that make an order possible:

Each handles your information under its own privacy policy. We do not share your
information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

## How long we keep it

Order and transaction records are kept for **seven years**, as required by the
Canada Revenue Agency. Email correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful
for supporting you.

## Your rights

You may ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct
anything wrong, or delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. You
may also withdraw consent for optional contact at any time.

Email **caviarkitchenca@gmail.com** and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the
Privacy Commissioner of Canada at **priv.gc.ca**.

## Children

Our store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect
information from anyone under 16.

## Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will
be announced on this page.
